A gruesome New England legend, Lizbeth "Lizzie" Borden was a young woman accused (and acquitted) of murdering her father and step mother. With many angles, possible suspects, and unknown facts, it is still a cold case that has been unsolved and surrounded by intrigue for over 130 years. Lizzie Borden is a distant cousin of mine, as was her father, and so the intrigue and speculation has a personal connection as well.

My original portrait of Lizbeth was done in acrylic paint on 16"x20" mat board and is now on display in the Lizzie Borden House; a bed & breakfast, museum and hot spot for paranormal investigators, psychics, historians and curiosity seekers alike.

The Lizzie Borden House is notorious for being the home of Lizzie Borden and her family, and it is the location of the 1892 unsolved double murder of Lizzie's father and stepmother Andrew and Abby Borden. It is located on 230 Second Street in the city of Fall River, Massachusetts. -Wikipedia
